Privacy Policy

Last updated November 1, 2026

Short version: we collect what we need to quote a clean, send a cleaner to your home, take payment and answer you afterwards. We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising trackers on this site, and we do not set cookies on you when you browse it.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy covers oncemaid.com and the ways you contact us through it: the chat window, the "Become a cleaner" form, the review form and the payment page. It applies to clients who book a cleaning, cleaners who apply to take work, and anyone who simply visits the site.

Oncemaid is a trading name of Turning Water LLC, 17011 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, CA 92647.

2. What we collect

If you use the chat. The name you give, an email address if you choose to leave one, which page you were on when you opened the chat, your browser's user-agent string, and the messages you send. The chat is how most cleans get quoted, so what you tell us about your home ends up here: the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the address, access arrangements and anything you ask us to pay attention to.

If you apply to clean. Your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write about your experience.

If you leave a review. Your name, what you wrote, the kind of job it was, a contact detail if you give one, a star rating, and a record that you ticked the box giving us permission to publish it.

If you pay through the site. Your name, your email address, the amount, and any note you add. Card numbers never reach us. The payment runs on Stripe's own checkout page, and Stripe passes back only the result.

What we do not collect. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracker on this site. The public pages set no cookies at all. We do not track your location. We do not ask for or hold Social Security numbers, bank details or government identity documents.

3. How we use it

To quote and schedule a cleaning. To send a cleaner to your home and tell them what they need to know to do the job. To take payment and send a receipt. To answer you when you write to us. To consider your application if you applied to clean. To publish your review if you gave us permission. To keep the site working and to stop automated junk reaching our forms.

We do not use what you tell us to advertise to you, and we do not build a profile of you.

4. Who we share it with

The cleaner going to your home. They are told what they need in order to turn up and do the work: the address, the access arrangements, the size of the home and your instructions.

Stripe, which processes payments and holds the card details we never see. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what it does with them.

Google Workspace, which carries our email, and Fly.io, which hosts this website and stores its data.

Anyone we are legally required to tell, such as in response to a valid legal demand, or where we need to protect someone's safety.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the last twelve months.

5. How long we keep it

Chat conversations and booking details are kept while you are a client and for as long afterwards as we may need them to deal with a question about work we did. Payment records are kept for seven years, because tax rules require it. Applications from cleaners we did not take on are kept for up to a year. Published reviews stay up until you ask us to take yours down.

6. Your rights

If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what we have collected about you and where it came from, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and not to be treated worse for asking. Because we do not sell or share personal information, and do not use sensitive information for anything beyond providing the service, there is nothing for you to opt out of, but you may still ask us to confirm that.

If you live in another state with a comprehensive privacy law, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana, you have broadly the same rights to confirm, access, correct, delete and port your information, and to appeal if we turn a request down.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to do any of the above and we will do our best to help.

How to ask. Email info@oncemaid.com or call 714.912.0665. We will confirm who you are before acting, usually by checking the request against the contact details we already hold, and we will answer within 45 days.

7. Children

This site is not for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to info@oncemaid.com and we will delete it.

8. How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS, so what you send is encrypted on the way to us. Access to the dashboard where bookings and messages live is limited to the people who run Oncemaid, is behind a password and a second step by email, and the password is stored only as a scrypt hash that cannot be read back. Payment card details are held by Stripe and never by us.

No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

9. Other websites

Our site links to places we do not control, such as our Yelp and Google listings. What you do there is governed by their policies and not this one.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will say so more plainly than that.
